Is there anything else I should try to find out regarding my long-term disability benefits from my employer? by Patricia Santucci

Yes. You need to know whether the benefits are indexed so that you know when to expect an increase in the amount of the benefit, if any. You also need to know whether the insurer will pay for any rehabilitation and/or treatment under the policy. Every policy is different and therefore sometimes a long-term disability policy simply pays a monthly benefit and sometimes there are a host of collateral benefits that accompany a long-term disability policy. Understanding what benefits are included is critical. (4)
