Is Mortgage Disability Insurance the same as LTD? by Patricia Santucci

No, these are different “products” provided by your insurance company. Like LTD, Disability Mortgage insurance provides you with financial support in the event that you become disabled and are unable to work. However, with Mortgage insurance, the benefits are paid to your mortgage only. If you qualify, the payments will cover all or part of your monthly mortgage payments up to a certain amount and for a fixed duration. There is usually a waiting period (often 60 days) before you can receive benefits. People often have both LTD coverage and Mortgage Disability insurance. At Santucci Personal Injury Law we can help you if your Mortgage Disability Insurance had been denied or cut off. (26)
