Important COVID-19 Statement by Patricia Santucci

Santucci Law is taking active steps to protect our clients and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue to monitor and update our procedures as guided by the Hamilton Public Health Unit and Federal and Provincial Governments, as well as any Notices to the Profession from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. The situation is fluid and our policies may change as things develop. Nonetheless, we are taking the opportunity to advise our clients as to what they can expect during the crises:

  • Our office will be closed until April 6, 2020, and perhaps longer. The lawyers will be working remotely to the extent that we can.

  • Effective immediately client meetings will be rescheduled or conducted via telephone until further notice. We would ask that clients not attend the office for routine meetings. If there are circumstances which require in-person attendance, we will contact you.

  • Pursuant to the Notice to the Profession from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice dated March 15, 2020, the Superior Court of Justice has suspended regular operations of court attendances. Motions and Trials will be adjourned.

  • We are being proactive with respect to issuing Statements of Claim and Applications to the License Appeal Tribunal in order to ensure that our clients’ rights’ are protected and matters are not delayed.

  • Examinations for Discovery scheduled prior to April 6, 2020, will be adjourned to a later date. Our staff will be in touch with affected clients. This may be extended depending upon the development of the situation. The examiners’ offices are closed so it will take some time to get new dates. We will advise when this is possible.

  • The rescheduling of mediations will be addressed on a case to case basis. If you have a mediation scheduled in the next 30 days you will be hearing from us.

  • We appreciate your support and patience during this difficult and rapidly changing time.

  • If you have questions about the status of your matter, please contact us via e-mail. If you do not know your lawyer’s e-mail address please use info@santuccilaw.ca.
